The Portland Hotel- Opposite the Leas Cliff Hall, beside the sea and Folkestone town centre, The Portland Hotel has a popular bar and restaurant (dinner inclusive deals). Close to Eurotunnel and the Dover Ferry Terminal. The Skuba Bar, with its sun terrace and garden overlooking the sea, is perfect for socialising or a quiet drink, whilst savouring the sea views. The Skuba Grill offers its renowned menu in the bar throughout the day and in the restaurant during the evenings. Breakfast is continental-style with a wide variety of cereals, cheeses, yoghurts, croissants and fruit. Being a smaller hotel, there is no dedicated reception. Within minutes walking distance are The Stephen Joseph Theatre, Spa Complex and the town centre, as well as a Shopping Centre, Cricket Ground and Bowling Centre. Although the hotel's central location means that they are close to the main road route around Scarborough, it is fortunate to be set back from this in a small grassed square.

Alvera Court- Colin and Brenda Grant offer a warm Scottish welcome to holiday visitors and conference delegates to our attractive, friendly and comfortable totally non-smoking home. We are small, privately owned and run by ourselves, offering twelve individually decorated bedrooms. Visit Britain Four Star guest accomodation, centrally located opposite the International Conference Centre, with a short stroll to the town centre, the bus and train stations. We are a town house with stairs to all levels. Sorry we do not have a ground floor bedroom. We have our own private car park next to the hotel, and look forward to offering you the facilities you expect, but with a homely and friendly atmosphere. Access at all times once checked in. We do not serve dinner now as there are more than seventy restaurants a five minute walk from us into town. There is a trouser press, iron and ironing board available.

It is a 10 minute walk to the city walls but less to the start of York's many wonderful eating places. From here to get to the city center you can either walk round on the walls at Micklegate Bar towards the spectacular ancient Minster or under them where the shops start. Both ways take around a further 10 minutes, so it is 20 minutes walking from us to the middle of town. Our emphasis is on friendliness and cleanliness. We offer full English breakfast in the dining room or relax and take advantage of our breakfast in bed at no extra charge.
