On the ground floor there are three reception rooms. The characterful front sitting room features an original Victorian tiled fireplace with open fire, cafe-style wooden shutters and heavy linen handmade curtains and TV. The heart of the house is the family/dining room with an exposed brick fireplace, log burner, Victorian pine table and dresser and Samsung 55” UHD Curved Smart TV with sound system. The cosy garden room at the back of the house is flooded with natural light with itslarge dome roof light and French doors leading to the lower garden terrace and steps. Light oak floors hide the underfloor piped heating system on the ground floor. The white country-style Neptune walk through kitchen features butlers sink, fridge/freezer, integrated washing machine, dishwasher, induction hob, oven and microwave, Nespresso coffee machine and KitchenAid appliances. Also on the ground floor is a cloakroom with hand basin and WC. Cottage stairs lead to the first floor where there are two double bedrooms and a bathroom. The bedrooms each have king size beds (5ft), built in wooden wardrobes, window shutters and linen blackout curtains. The second bedroom has views over the garden and also has a dressing table. The beds are handmade by Button & Sprung, they are upholstered and very comfortable with patented IQ spring system. The bed linen is 100% classic European linen which is naturally breathable and hypoallergenic. It helps to regulate body temperature in both hot and cold climates. Linen does wrinkle - thus providing a naturally relaxed look to the beds. The bathroom features a window over the bath, walk-in shower with a rain shower head, Victorian-style high level cistern, underfloor hearting and a black wenge Claridge vanity cabinet.
Victory Cottage was completely refurbished and extended in summer of 2018. The house is superbly appointed and equipped. It has the benefit of modern and brand new fittings whilst maintaining many original features, thus providing the feel of the Victorian era with modern day comfort and technology. The southwest facing walled garden has been attractively landscaped with terraces on 3 levels. The cottage-style garden is a delightful place to relax, read or eat outside, particularly in the summer months. Outside lighting enhances the atmosphere at night. The proximity of the house to the historic cobbled streets leading to the Town Quay and local railway station in one direction and Lymingtons famous marinas and coastal paths in the other direction make this house ideally positioned for all that the town has to offer, including the shops and restaurants. Today Lymington is a small thriving market town with a ferry terminal for connections to Yarmouth, the Isle of Wight and a famous yachting town with two marinas. It is a popular holiday venue, greatly enhanced by its proximity to the New Forest which is within a 10-minute drive. The location affords visitors the chance to explore the local villages of Brockenhurst, Lyndhurst and Beaulieu or walk, ride or cycle along the miles of tracks available in a stunning setting.
