There are beautiful short walks within the village along the River Avon and Glazebrook, including several nature reserves and footpaths connecting further to local moorland trails and beauty spots for keener walkers. The village has a regular half-hourly bus service connecting to Plymouth, Totnes Railway Station (with connections to Bristol and London) and Torquay. Located on the southern edge of the stunning Dartmoor National Park which covers almost 370 square miles of granite tors, acres of open moor grazed by Dartmoor ponies and wooded valleys, there are plenty of activities to partake in including hiking, wild swimming, horse-riding, caving, cycling, kayaking and rock-climbing.
