1 Alston Farm Cottage is a delightful grade II listed barn, forming part of the beautiful Alston Farm Cottages, an ‘L; shape group of 2 barns comprising 5 cottages, sitting on the rural edge of Churston Ferrers. Filled with rustic charm, the barn enjoys character in every room with its areas of exposed stone walls, wooden floorboards and beamed ceilings. With 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, including one of each on the ground floor, the accommodation is ideal for families or friends to enjoy at any time of the year. Just over 1 ½ miles from the doorstep (or a 6-minute drive), guests will find themselves at the beautiful shingle beach of Fishcombe Cove, from where there are plenty of rockpools to explore and a cafe to enjoy (please note this cafe is seasonal). From here, one can join the famous South West Coast Path and enjoy the stunning scenery that comes with being in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Guests could also head just over 1 ½ miles in the other direction to the popular fishing town of Brixham, which is located on the southern tip of Torbay, or the English Riviera as it is better known. The town is made up of narrow little streets that wind their way down to the bustling harbour where all the activity takes place. There are plenty of traditional shops showcasing locally-made souvenirs, crafts and foods. One can even take a dip in Shoalstone Pool, an outdoor seawater lido, one of only a few left in the country. Those looking to entertain the family can head to Paignton, home to a selection of attractions including the very popular Paignton Zoo, the Paignton to Dartmouth Steam Railway and Splashdown waterpark. There are also two beautiful National Trust properties only a short drive away, Coleton Fishacre with its Arts and Crafts style house and 24 acres of landscaped gardens, and the delightful Greenway House and Gardens, the holiday home of the famous and much-loved author Agatha Christie and her family. Please note: - If you have received the benefit of the reduced occupancy discount only the master bedroom will be available for your stay;
- This property is not suitable for wheelchair users. However, due to the ground floor bedroom and shower room (and that you can temporarily unload outside the barn before going to park the car in the nearby car park), it may be suitable for those with walking disabilities (please request a copy of the access statement, prior to booking, for more details).
