Macdonald Swan's Nest Hotel - Extensively refurbished in November 2008, this attractive hotel has a superb location, overlooking the River Avon and the RSC Theatre; 5 minutes' walk from the town centre. The restaurant, bar and lobby area were fully refurbished in 2008, along with most bedrooms. The new rooms have 26-inch LCD TVs (with Freeview), minibars, air conditioning, walk-in monsoon showers and free internet access. There is a well-stocked bar and Le Bistrot Pierre offers delicious French cuisine and superb views of the river. All guests can get free access to the leisure facilities at the Macdonald Alveston Manor, which is opposite. The facilities include a swimming pool, gym, sauna and steam room. Near the centre of Stratford-upon-Avon, the Courtyard Theatre and all of the town's Shakespeare attractions, the Macdonald Swan's Nest was the first building in Stratford to be built in red brick.
